Havik Took Shelter but Was Tragically Murdered

Havik Segal

When red alert sirens sounded across Moshav Netiv HaAsara, Havik Segal sought refuge in a public shelter, as she didn’t have a designated safe room in her home. Tragically, about half an hour later, she was murdered by a terrorist who had landed in the moshav using a motorized paraglider

While Havik chats on the phone with her two grandchildren, Uri and Yaara, their father Tzur sets off towards Netiv HaAsara. Tzur passes a gas station near Kibbutz Gevim, where he spots injured civilians and stops to assist them. Moments later, red alerts sound across the region, prompting Tzur to return home. He calls Havik's neighbour, Eyal Stern, asking him to check on Havik. Eyal, who is not in the moshav, relays the message to his brother, Oren Stern, a Netiv HaAsara's security squad member

One of the terrorists who landed in the moshav embarks on a killing spree. He first murders members of the Akuni family: Or (32), Arieh (68) and Ruti (67). He then spots Havik hiding in the public shelter and murders her with gunfire. Meanwhile, Oren Stern and Danny Vovk, both Moshav residents, team up. Armed with a rifle and a pistol, they set out to confront the terrorists, but tragically fall in battle against them

Tzur Segal calls Ziv Volk, the Ravshatz (Military Security Coordinator) of Moshav Netiv HaAsara, to inquire about his mother's safety. Ziv responds that there is no information about her. About an hour later, Ziv informs Havik's daughter, Hela Elman, that her mother has been murdered
