Idan, an IDF soldier from Kibbutz Kissufim, was shot by terrorists and escaped to his grandparents' home. His grandfather, Rafi Semet, a medic and ambulance driver, was also shot. Rafi retrieved his first aid kit and treated them both despite his injuries. The three sheltered in the safe room for 16 hours until rescued.

Rafi and Susie Samet wake to the piercing sound of red alert sirens and explosions and rush to their home's safe room. Rafi, Kibbutz Kissufim's paramedic and ambulance driver for four decades, tries to stay updated on nearby casualties who may need his help. Meanwhile, his grandson Idan, an IDF soldier spending the weekend in the kibbutz, heads to a designated safe zone near his apartment, as his safe room is under renovation. He messages his brother, Jonathan, who also lives in the kibbutz, asking if “a war has broken out.” On the previous night, as part of his emergency routine, Rafi prepared his first-aid kit and parked the kibbutz’s ambulance near his home

As sirens blare, reports of terrorist squads infiltrating the kibbutz emerge. Idan decides to return home to grab his weapon before heading to the safe zone
As Idan heads back to the neighborhood's safe zone with his weapon, he spots several soldiers in the distance. He decides to join them and offer help, but quickly realizes they are terrorists disguised in IDF uniforms — firing at him. Two bullets hit him, one in the arm and one in the thigh. Wounded but determined, he escapes and reaches his grandparents' house, collapsing at their doorstep. Calling for help, Rafi and Susie rush to find him bleeding on the ground. They carry him inside and begin treating his wounds. Once stable, Idan informs his platoon commander of his injuries
Rafi leaves the safe room and heads toward his ambulance to retrieve his first-aid kit. He grabs the bag, but on his way back, terrorists open fire. A bullet strikes his palm, yet he manages to make it back inside the house
A group of terrorists gathers outside Rafi’s neighbors' home, Mazal and Shlomo Mansour, preparing an ambush. When Rafi glances out the window, a terrorist spots him and unleashes heavy gunfire at the living room, causing severe damage but missing Rafi. Later that day, Shlomo is kidnapped to Gaza, while Mazal escapes and finds refuge in her neighbor Rachel Segal’s home

Rafi attempts to reach the ambulance again to retrieve advanced medical equipment for treating his hand and Idan’s wounds, but discovers it has been disabled by terrorist gunfire. With no other option, he relies on his available first-aid supplies to stop Idan’s bleeding

Egoz Unit soldiers arrive to rescue the family trapped in the safe room. Mistaking them for terrorists, Idan nearly fires but hesitates after hearing them speak Hebrew. Realizing they are IDF soldiers, he lowers his weapon, and they safely escort the three out of the house
An Egoz Unit team evacuates Susie, Rafi and Idan to the kibbutz gate, where they receive initial medical care. As communication is restored, Idan learns about his family's whereabouts — his father sheltered in a safe room with his younger siblings, while his mother, caught mid-bike ride, hid until her rescue
Idan is evacuated to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba for initial treatment before being transferred to Kaplan Hospital in Rehovot
Rafi and Idan are released from the hospital
