Red alerts echo through the kibbutz. 70-year-old Ofer Ron, one of Kibbutz Kissufim’s oldest residents, wakes up and takes refuge in his safe room. He speaks on the phone with his sister, Tali, who lives in Rishon LeZion, reassuring her that everything is fine
Tali warns Ofer, who's sheltering in his safe room, that terrorists are attacking multiple communities across the region. She urges him to lock both his house doors and stay safe. At that very moment, terrorists infiltrate Kibbutz Kissufim
Ofer lives in the first row of houses in the kibbutz. The terrorists break through his door, storm inside his house, and force him out of the safe room into the living room. They shoot him twice — once in the head and once in the chest — killing him instantly. Then, they leave and proceed to neighboring houses
Unaware of what has happened to Ofer, Tali tries to reach him throughout the day. Simultaneously, she attempts to assess his condition by contacting other kibbutz members, but cannot find any information about him
After hours of attempting to obtain a life sign from her brother, Tali is informed by kibbutz officials that Ofer has been murdered by terrorists.
Several weeks after his murder, Ofer Ron is laid to rest at the “Bishvil Menuha Nehona” cemetery in Rishon LeZion. His funeral journey is accompanied by about 70 musicians who came voluntarily and played the songs of Eretz Israel that he loved
