Inbar Boyum (23), an IDF veteran who served as a combat medic in the Golani Brigade, resides with his grandmother, Simcha Revivo, in Sderot. In the early hours of Saturday morning, he finishes a night shift as a security guard at EAPC (Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Company) facility in Ashkelon. After completing his shift, he drives to visit his partner, Yuval Tal, who lives in the community of Mabu'im near Netivot. His parents, Gil and Ayelet, and his three siblings—Omer, Anog, and Adi—reside in Kibbutz Be’eri, where Inbar was born and raised

As the attack unfolds and the first sirens blare, Inbar drives from his workplace to his partner, Yuval, who lives in the Mabu'im community. His mother, Ayelet, calls him, urging him to stay in touch. Within minutes, he arrives at Yuval’s home
Inbar receives an update that terrorists have infiltrated the western Negev. In the family WhatsApp group, he sees that terrorists have also infiltrated his kibbutz and messages his family: "Please take care of yourselves." Minutes later, he realizes he cannot sit idly by. He decides to return to his workplace to retrieve a weapon and rush to defend his kibbutz. Meanwhile, his father, Gil, a member of the kibbutz's security squad team, is seriously wounded by terrorist gunfire and is evacuated to the kibbutz’s dental clinic
Inbar drives north through the Sha’ar HaNegev junction when terrorists lying in ambush open fire, targeting passing vehicles. He is shot and killed. Meanwhile, his father, Gil, succumbs to his wounds at the dental clinic. It is presumed that Inbar was murdered at 7:34 AM, and Gil was pronounced dead at 7:35 AM

Inbar's partner informs Ayelet that he has left for work. Ayelet tries calling him multiple times, but he does not answer. Tracking his location via a mobile app, she sees that his phone was last recorded at the Sha’ar HaNegev junction and has since stopped functioning. She alerts the family that Inbar is unreachable

During the morning, terrorists break into the family’s home, where Ayelet is sheltering with her son, Adi. They fire at the reinforced safe room door but fail to break through. Later, one of Inbar’s colleagues calls Adi, asking if he is Inbar’s brother and pressing him with additional questions. By the end of the call, Adi and Ayelet realize that Inbar never arrived at work Meanwhile, the electricity in the kibbutz is cut off, and Ayelet is unable to contact her other two children, Omer and Anog, who reside in separate apartments within the kibbutz.
In the afternoon, Ayelet's siblings—Ofer, Lilach, and Ronit—post on Instagram, sharing identifying details about Inbar, hoping to obtain information on his status. Meanwhile, other relatives contact the media, emergency services, and security forces in a desperate attempt to locate him

Security forces rescue Adi and Ayelet from the safe room and relocate them to a neighboring house in the kibbutz. Ayelet writes in the family WhatsApp group: "Please, tell me Inbar is okay." A relative replies: "He still hasn’t answered; we will search for him everywhere." Later, Ayelet and Adi are evacuated to the kibbutz gate, where they reunite with Omer and Anog
Ayelet is evacuated with Omer, Anog, and Adi to Kibbutz Shoval. At this stage, members of the Kibbutz's security squad are aware of Gil’s death but refrain from informing Ayelet. Later that night, Ayelet files a missing persons report for Inbar and Gil at the police’s missing persons division
