In a room in their unprotected home and with phones silenced, 4 members of the Elbaz family watched their security cameras in horror as 3 armed terrorists in uniforms strolled through their yard nonchalantly. A fierce battle ensued, killing a soldier on leave and a civilian. Parents Ariela and Eli, and sons Yehuda and Ophir, were rescued safely

Ariela, Eli, and their two children, Ofir and Yehuda, run to the shelter outside their house but discover it is locked. The neighbor manages to break the lock, and everyone goes hiding inside
The members of the Elbaz family head outside to the shelter again and start hearing sounds of gunfire
Ariel Bilya, who lives next door to the Elbaz family, leads ten of his family members out of the window of his home, thus saving their lives. When Ariel heads out the window last - he is shot to death. From the house of the Bilya family, the terrorists jump into the courtyard of the Elbaz family home
Ariela looks out her window and notices a terrorist jumping over the fence of her house followed by two other terrorists. She updates Eli, her husband, and together with the children, Ofir and Yehuda, they go into a single room, mute cellphones and watch the three terrorists in the security cameras. Ariela asks her brother, Sharli, to call for help
Ariela, Eli, Yehuda and Ofir hide in their home. They see the terrorists in the security cameras walking around the courtyard and preparing their weapons, all while trying to get inside the house. One of the neighbors notices the terrorists, shouts and warns another neighbor. The terrorists hear the neighbor's screams and fire towards the street from inside Elbaz family's yard
Sharli, Ariela's brother, a former police man, tries to direct the police forces to Ariela, but despite his many efforts couldn't successfully guide them
Matanel Harush, a friend of son Ofir, sends a message warning of terrorists in the neighborhood of Mishor HaGefen. Ofir updates Matanel there are terrorists in the yard of his house. Matanel leaves his house armed, to assist the Elbaz family. He joins the security forces and leads them to the house
Members of the Elbaz family are extracted from their home. They go to Zohar, the eldest daughter of Ariela and Eli, who was with her husband's family in Moshav Bitkha on that Saturday
The policemen wage a long battle to defeat the terrorists. During the incident, Corporal Yonatan Elazari was killed and Moshe Ben Porat was murdered. Elazari, 20, was staying at a Mechina he attended in Ofakim during a vacation from bootcamp. Moshe Ben Porat, a 58-year-old Tiberias resident, was staying in Ofakim to celebrate the birth of his grandson
For weeks on end members of the Elbaz family found it difficult to return to their home. They wandered between houses of several family members until they managed to return to the city of Ofakim: The children returned after three weeks, and the parents returned to their home after two months
