The tranquility of the beach is violated when Red Color alarms are heard along with an unusual barrage of rockets and mortar bombs. 32 civilians are on the beach, looking for shelter. Some hide in a shelter, some run towards the Zikim base, others hide in the sand dunes or behind sheds. Eight people take shelter in the beach's sheltered restrooms

The rubber first boat of terrorists crosses the maritime border and enters Israeli territory. A total of seven rubber boats arrive from the Gaza Strip, carrying 38 terrorists from Hamas's naval commando unit. Navy forces identify the boats and manage to destroy two of them. Three more are partially hit by gunfire and two reach shore unharmed

Seven fighters from the 51st Golani Battalion arrive on the beach in an unarmored Savannah vehicle. A minute later, two rubber boats land on the beach, and a total of eight terrorists disembark. The soldiers do not notice them and instruct the civilians in the restroom to stay inside. Among them are five young men, about 17 years old. One of the boys, Shahaf Krief, sends his relatives a video documenting a Golani soldier who has taken up position at the entrance to the restroom while fire is being opened outside. The terrorists who had just landed murder two civilians on the beach - John Aslanov and Robert Shaulov. At this point, the military force also opens fire, but the terrorists manage to advance towards the shelter and the toilets. At this point, most of the force retreats slightly. The terrorists murder another civilian - Abed al-Zidana - and continue on their way

Seven civilians hide in the restroom cubicles, including five as young as 17. One of the boys, Shahaf Krief, sends a video to his relatives documenting the exchange of fire that took place between the terrorists and a Golani soldier positioned at the entrance to the restrooms. A short time later, the fighters would retreat, leaving behind the Savannah vehicle with which they arrived from the base.

One of the Golani fighters, Sergeant Dvir Lisha, run towards the toilets, and gets killed. In those minutes, terrorist boats continue to arrive at the shore. Some are hit by fire from the navy boats, while others manage to get ashore on their way to bases in the area

The terrorists enter the shelter and the restroom and shoot in all directions. Seven are murdered in the restroom - Shahaf Krief, Tal Keren, Or Taasa, Nadav Teayeb, Alina Weisberg and the couple Svetlana and Yuri Lisovoy. A few minutes later, on Netiv Ha'asara, Or Taasa's father, Gil, fights the terrorists who have entered the moshav. After running out of ammunition, he hides in the shelter with two of his children - Shai and Koren. The terrorists throw a grenade into the shelter. Gil jumps on the grenade and is killed, saving the children's lives

Four of the terrorists steal the Savannah vehicle, in which the Golani fighters reached the beach, and drive towards Kibbutz Zikim and the bases adjacent to it. Six other terrorists march towards the kibbutz on foot

The families of those hiding in the restrooms are unable to locate their loved ones. throughout the day, they repeatedly try to contact the defense forces but do not receive assistance.

Soldiers and civilians arrive at the beach to search for survivors and evacuate bodies. Erez Eshel, an educator who arrived at the scene along with his student, Noam David, testifies that they saw a fisherman who shouted at them: “We are being slaughtered on the beach.” They reached the beach and assisted the soldiers in rescuing 17 civilians, most of whom were dead.

The families are trying to find out what happened to their loved ones. Shahaf Krief's father came ashore along with his eldest son. When he reaches the toilet cubicle, he sees pools of blood and drag marks on the floor and he fears the bodies have been kidnapped.
